Shop Wide SALE

I'm having a 'shop wide SALE'...
everything in the shop
has been marked down
10% to 50%.

I had a "dismal" March...
not sure what happened on Etsy...
but many people's shops just kind of
'disappeared'
on Google.

With that...and a number of other 'issues...
it ended up being one of my
worst months EVER!

I don't normally talk about how bad..
or good..
my shop is doing,
but since I've had so many sales
lately...I felt the 'need' to explain.

Since this is how I make most of the money
I need to live on...another month like
March and I'm not sure I'd be able to
'hang on'.

The worst part...every week one goes without
income puts them behind, at least 2 weeks
on their bills...
because..you've lost a week of income..but not of bills..
now anything you make has to go for 2 weeks of bills...

so..if you go a month...well..
.it's put you 2 months..or more
behind.

So...if I seem to be having a lot of Sales...now
you know why.

Limited Edition Large Prints

After much experimentation,
finding a paper that I liked but, that didn't cost way more than
I could afford to charge for my prints,
I'm now able to
offer a few 'select' pieces
as

They are printed at an 11" x 14" image
on 13" x 19" premium cotton archival art paper.

I'm pretty excited about being able to do
the larger size prints and decided to start
with editions limited to 50.
I sign, date and number the prints, just below the image
in the right corner.

Mercy-Inspired by Rustic Goth's little goth girl

I was very flattered when my daughter
sent me a link to this Treasury.
It was inspired by my little Goth Girl...Mercy.

A take on Snow White...

This Story is by The Brothers Grimm
Translated by D. L. Ashliman

Once upon a time, as a queen sits sewing at her window, she pricks her finger on her needle and three drops of blood fall on the snow that had fallen on her ebony window frame. As she looks at the blood on the snow......

This is part of a "Treasury Tales Tuesday" blog post by Best Art Studios.

I thought this was such a clever idea, that I decided to give it a 'plug' by directing my readers
to the rest of the blog post....here.

I don't get sick very often...

I've had the good fortune of not getting sick too often..
even when the flu attacks everyone else in the
family...
it seems to skip right over me.

So..when I do get sick...I'm not sure
what to do with myself.

I've been 'under the weather' for
a couple of days...not sure why..
and I have soooo much that I need to do right now.
I just didn't have the energy to do it.

Instead...I got caught up on my
blog reading,
that was fun...
and I created a couple of new digital pieces..
watched some TV and
rested.
Hopefully I can get everything back on schedule
over the week-end.

New Pieces - New Shop

I recently decided that it might be a good idea to have more than
one online shop..
and opened a new Rustic Goth shop on Zibbet.

Well, I didn't want to just have the same things in multiple
shops...so what I am doing is...
creating new items exclusive to each shop.

This is a 'Gothik Virtures' art bookmark
of  'Mercy'
and it is only available in my
Rustic Goth Zibbet Shop.

Also Exclusive to this Zibbet Shop
are my bookmarks,

I really LOVE these new pieces and will be doing
a whole series of
'Gothik Virtues'
prints and bookmarks.

Whimsical Gothiks

Last week I created some new little
'whimsical gothiks'

Melanthe and Mister Mistoffelees
painted on a small wood panel
and

Merula's Raven

painted on a small piece of watecolor paper.

I think they're really cute...though a bit
though a bit different than
my other 'gothik' pieces.

But then...I guess that's what I'm all about.

On another note...
I was quite disappointed with my week
in the Handmade Market.

I like the site a lot, but I always had
trouble with the site 'loading'...a lot of times it
never would load for me..
so, I'll have to wait until the site is a little
more 'user friendly' to get another stall.

Rustic Goth 'news'

I had a 'stall' at the
Handmade Market all week...
I decided to 'give it a go' and see what happened..
I'll have to check stats to see how
it worked out.
It's a fun little site but a little time consuming
to set up.

My shops at
and
have some exclusive items,
unique to each shop
and I am working on new pieces
for each of my shops.
 New pieces also added to
my Rustic Goth Etsy Shop.

I took on a new
custom painting request..
I'm working hard to get it done as it
needs to get to the Netherlands by May 1st.

Jaime is the 'featured Zibbeter' this week..
she gave a wonderful interview.

Now I'm taking some
time away from the computer...so I can get
everything done and also get several
lines ready to present for licensing.

A little break...

I'm taking a bit of a
'computer break'...
having some problems again
so it seems like a good time to see if my online shops
can 'tend' themselves
for a bit.

I really need to take a break from all of the
online work that consumes so much of each day
and just see how many new pieces I can create.

I have so many ideas that keep getting put on the back burner..
I want to spend some time and see if I can
do something with them.

A Melancholy Dwelling

Jaime Best has a shop on Zibbet

I really love Jaime's art...it is so
vibrant and beautiful...
especially in person.

Forget that I am somewhat prejudiced...of course I am..
but I am being completely unbiased when I
brag on this girl's talent...
her style really is uniquely her own.

I'm giving her a bit of a 'plug'...
she's going to be the Featured Seller on Zibbet
this week...
and I'm hoping she gets a lot of 'love' from my friends and readers.

Her interview speaks volumes about the kind of person she is.

Here's a link to her blog..
and to a really cool website she's put together
for her (and her husband's)

A Couple Digital Collage Art Prints

I decided to do something a little different.
I found some old diary pages in the Public Domain
and 'collaged' the little gal from my
Butterfly Blues piece
into a brand new piece entitled,

the other piece is entitled

They were rather fun to put together...though I do
admit I'm not very experienced at
collage...
I think I'd like to experiment a bit more with it.

Recent News....

I was recently featured in
Etsy's Dark Side Street Team's
There are some 'wonderfully creepy'
pieces featured...

I did an interview with
Tabz at Gothic Toggs on Zazzle
which will run in her blog..
though I don't actually know when at this time...
I'll post a link when it is published.

I've put some new stuff in my
Rustic Goth Zibbet Shop
that are exclusive to that shop,
I'll be adding more exclusive pieces in the coming
days and weeks.

I've got some Rustic Goth designs
ready for licensing...
but I need about a dozen designs
before I begin to submit them..
main thing is...I've begun!

Getting All Caught Up

I think I've said before that I'm a little
"OCD"
about a number of things...and shipping is high on my list
of things that I 'obsess' about.

I had to go to weekly shipping....because I found, especially if I've
had a really good week...
that I could get caught up in shipping and let other things...
like creating new pieces..
fall by the way side.

So...I'm okay with weekly shipping...UNTIL...I have what happened
this past week...
We ran out of ink for the prints...we really do go through that stuff...and it's
definitely not cheap...
but..on occasion our local supply is out of one or more of the colors we need...
YIKES!!

Anyway...we are finally back on track...I have
all but two orders SHIPPED.

The two orders that are left will go out on
Monday or Tuesday..
(I'm making an 'exception'..because of the ink situation..
and shipping twice this next week.)
