2012 Calendars

This is my new Melancholy Girls 2012 Wall Calendar..
it's actually the first calendar using my 'melancholy' girls...
last year I used my 'steampunk' girls.
This calendar actually has the origin of the month included...
the link is here.
See a 'sample' of those calendar pages below.

For the 'plain' version...without the month origins...
you can find that one here.

I also put together a 'Tree Art' Wall Calendar this year.

This one just features a select few 'tree' pieces I've done the past few years.
The link for this calendar is here.

I talked Jaime into doing a few calendars this year and I am so
excited with how well they turned out...

Links to Jaime and Mike's Calendars on Etsy
can be found here.

I hope you liked the little preview of calendars for

2012
and I'm especially pleased to be able to share those
of my daughter and her husband...I think they are so very cool:)

Jaime's Art

Jaime is fixing to take a large number of her
prints out of her Etsy Shop
kind of like I do once or twice every year.
She hasn't done this in such a long time that she has way too
many prints to manage.

She's put a list of the prints she's retiring
in her blog...
hopefully this will help her be able to stay on top of everything else....
especially since she's also helping me
take care of Oliver 4 days a week.

My Bookmarks are Available....

I had gotten to the point that I could no longer offer bookmarks
in my Etsy Shop.

Not having a car made it just way to difficult to get
the bookmarks to the Staples and laminate them....
I tried doing a bunch ahead of time and it never failed...
I always seemed to sell whichever bookmarks I was 'out' of.
So...to eliminate some of the stress...I just decided to 'do away' with them.

My two oldest children have recently decided to open their own Etsy Shop...
and they've started with bookmarks.
Jaime and I both decided not to continue to
carry these in our own shops and we are happy
 to have them available at

A Melancholy Dwelling

Jaime Best has a shop on Zibbet

I really love Jaime's art...it is so
vibrant and beautiful...
especially in person.

Forget that I am somewhat prejudiced...of course I am..
but I am being completely unbiased when I
brag on this girl's talent...
her style really is uniquely her own.

I'm giving her a bit of a 'plug'...
she's going to be the Featured Seller on Zibbet
this week...
and I'm hoping she gets a lot of 'love' from my friends and readers.

Her interview speaks volumes about the kind of person she is.

Here's a link to her blog..
and to a really cool website she's put together
for her (and her husband's)

Jaime's Holiday Banner

I visited Jaime's Etsy Shop

and saw that

she made a wonderful Holiday Banner for her

shop.

I was so tickled by it that I had to blog about it.

I know her work well enough to know that

this is a combination of

four different paintings...

some Christmas lights

and clever fonts.

Nothing but the Best....

'Can U Fix It?'
by
Mike Best

'Dream Come True'
by
Jaime Zatloukal Best

I do the shows with my youngest daughter, Jaime...and her husband Mike.
Here is a sampling of their art...
They've got an Etsy Shop...
and they recently did an interview
with the
'Handmade Gift Guru'.
Jaime gives me far too much credit for
the (1) art lesson I gave her a few years ago...
she is pretty much
completely self taught..
and
not to be 'bragging'..
I think she has taught herself
quite well.
You can read the interview
