It's My Time Now

I often find myself 'watching the clock' whenever I am under any kind of deadline...self imposed or otherwise. I am starting to get a little fidgety, waiting for my youngest son to get the upstairs finished so we can move my studio.

Anyway...it was with all of these thoughts, fidgeting and clock watching going on that this little piece came to mind.

At some point or another I've got to say...'It's My Time Now'....

My own reality....

...so to speak.

I'm in the midst of moving my studio and print center from the basement to the upstairs...not the physical work mind you...I'm letting my youngest son do all of that.

He's moving to the basement because...well, it's a little self contained apartment...with kitchenette... 3/4 bath..separate bedroom and separate entrance. He probably should have been there all along.

Problem with the move...it will be a week or so before I can get the studio to the point that I can actually use it. So, in the meantime....I'm going to do a few new photo manip's and digital pieces.

"The Lady's Bath" Made the Front Page...

My piece, 'The Lady's Bath', made the front page Treasury on Etsy today!
Since the Treasuries don't stay out there an awfully long time, I like to 'immortalize' it when it one of my pieces is fortunate enough to turn up out there.
I am very proud of this piece....the bird is an extinct Australian Huia, the dress is 19th century Victorian. It is my very first 'digital collage' and I really like how it turned out.

I have just been soooo busy....

Between having problems with my laptop...the cord threw sparks at me a few days ago and I had to borrow a cord that kept disconnecting me...and just being so busy trying to figure out where to go with my CMZ Art shop, painting 15 new ACEOs for my Rustic Goth shop, having the grandbabies every weekday and on and on and on...I just haven't been able to find a few minutes to post a blog.

I didn't realize how much I do count on having a good working laptop...well, I have a new cord...yay!!...hopefully my laptop is...or will be..as good as new and I can get things back on track.

A Quick Note...

I am teaching myself how to do digital art...this is one of my latest pieces...'Admittedly A Few Birds Did Act Strange' --- I got the title from a line in Alfred Hitchcock's movie..'The Birds'.

Anyway...I have done about a dozen pieces so far...and I am thoroughly enjoying myself.

I can't paint original pieces as often as I would like to..and this is the next best thing.

All of my pieces are original...done by me...it's just that I am using stock public domain photos, digital software and brushes. And, it's not as easy as you might think...

I've gone digital...

...well..not entirely...but, I've done quite a few pieces of digital art lately. From photo manipulation to digital paintings...I'm having a blast.

But, back to reality...my original paintings do sell better...and I have to pay my bills...so look for some brand new paintings later this week.

Who knew creating art digitally could be so much fun?!!!

I still have so much to learn but, I am pretty darned pleased with what I've done so far!! It also gives 'new life' to some of my old pieces.

I'm really anxious to see what I can do when I get a digital tablet...
