Shop Updates...

Since the move from 1000 Markets to Bonanza,
I've spent quite a bit of time trying to figure that site out.
I've got several items that are pretty much exclusive to the site...
I was originally going to wait until after the upcoming show..
when I had a little more time..
but I made a sale within a day after moving over
so I felt I needed to begin working on the site right away.
There's a lot more that I need to do...but those things will HAVE to wait...

I plan to have 25 Scrabble Tile pendants listed in my
Etsy Shop before the week-end.
Then...next week I'll begin listing even more pendants.

I will be pulling most of my original paintings to take to the Show...
I'll put those, that don't sell, back in the Shop
once the show is over.

First Show of our Regular Season

This coming Saturday is the
'first' show of our Regular Fall Season.

We're able to take some of our paintings to this
show...
and with all of our other new items..
we're really looking forward to this one.

I've posted our Fall Show schedule for anyone
who is wondering what shows we have coming up.

A Couple New Paintings in the Shop

"The Heart Will Follow"

"Friends of Mine"

I got a couple new 11" x 14" paintings done and listed in
the Shop earlier this week.

I've been so busy trying to get the Art Covers and other
small items ready for the
Applejack Festival September 18th and 19th.

We hadn't planned to do this festival since it's out of town
and starts really early in the morning...
but my oldest daughter works with the gal who
is running the show and she knows our work and talked us
into doing it.

My husband and I did the festival some years ago
and it was pretty good then so we thought...
what the heck...
let's give it a go!

I did a batch of  'rustic'  covers that I think will appeal
to pretty much everyone...as well as quite a few
of my Rustic Goth pieces.
We're hoping we have
'something for everyone'!

I have entered 'The Aviator' into the EBSQ Show..Grey

I am smitten with this piece...even though it is one of my
own pieces...and I don't usually get smitten with
my own art.

For some reason, this particular piece 'speaks' to
me on
so many levels
and I am just plain 'smitten'.

At any rate..the title of the piece is
'The Aviator'
and I have entered it into the

Jaime is going to enter a piece or so
into this show as well...at least
I think she is..
so..check it out and see what you think.

EBSQ Show 'Ancient'...voting ends soon.

Anyone who follows me or my art
probably knows that this is one of my
'all time favorites'..
it's a piece I am exceptionally proud to say that I did.

I entered it into the EBSQ Show
'Ancient'
partly because...
I remember, as a child, thinking that anything
more than 20 years older than myself was "ancient".
Really...those were my thoughts when I decided to
entered this into the show.

Voting ends on this show
on the 11th...so I decided to share my page
with anyone who might
want to vote for this piece.
Thanks so much for those who do!

Last Show of the Season

We've got ONE more show this Season.
It's this Saturday and Sunday..
which means..
Friday afternoon and evening is spent
setting up our space.
It's colder this show...so I'll need to really
bundle up...it really gets cold in
the building.
As with most shows past...I'll be pulling
all items that can't be
duplicated...from my Etsy Shop...
for the week-end.

We have ONE Show Left!

We had an 'excellent' show this past week-end...
what I particularly LOVED
was that our business was Steady!
This year we started with the smallest
of spaces...since we weren't sure how we would do.
Fortunately...we were able to
get a little extra space at all of the other
shows...
which gave us room to spread out a bit..
and not feel as 'claustrophobic'.
But, for this show..
we GOT exactly what we paid for...
a 10' x 10' space.
We discovered, we REALLY need a 10' x 15' space
to maximize our display...
so..next year...for MOST of the shows we opt to do...
we'll go with the 10x15...
then...if we end up with a 10x20
(as some of the local shows probably will)
I'm considering using the extra
5x10 space for something completely separate...
We'll see.
I just want us to get acclimated to a 10x15' space,
so we can get our display
EXACTLY how we want it for our future shows.
Our LAST show of this season
is December 5th and 6th!
Thanks to all of our new friends...collectors
and other artisans alike...
who have made my 'return' to "live shows" a most
wonderful experience!
I had quite forgotten how much I LOVE to interact
with people...and I intend to do
MUCH more of it...in 2010!

The "Plan" for This Week-end.

I listed a 'select your own'
Postcard/ Mini-Print Pack
in the Shop.
Just an F.Y.I.
The 'plan' for this week-end...
I am going to 'pull'
my jewelry..
mirrors..
and original paintings
for
(1) day only.
Since it is only a 1 day show...I want
to go ahead and pull
all of the (1) of a kind...
items.
(I know this doesn't apply to the mirrors...but, since
we have to order those in...don't want to end
up selling out at the show...and not be
able to fill any shop orders
until I order more.)
Besides...I have some new items
in the 'works'
that I want to put into the
Shop next week.

So Much To Do...

I really have so much to do
with another show coming up this week-end...
you'd think I wouldn't have time to
work on new pieces...
but, I'm finding I'd rather
'experiment'
with new pieces like the one here.
(She's in the shop.)
I feel I fell into sort of a 'rut'...with all of the
'gold backgrounds' ... similar characters...etc...
so..I'm attempting to 'break out' of the norm...
at least, the 'norm for me',
and experiment with some new pieces.
We'll just have to wait and see how they do...
in the meantime..
I do suppose I'd better start getting ready for the
week-end.

A few notes...

Here I am at the FAIR...my daughter-in-law caught
me when I wasn't looking.

I think it's taken a week to recover from those 11 very long days...
a little lesson in the pros and cons of doing a show that long...
I'm pretty sure it was my first and last show
of such length.
Our next show is October 10th and 11th...
from 9 to 5...
after 11 days at a show...this show will be easy.

In the meantime...
I'm working on two commission pieces...
one of which is a 24" x 48"...
(I NEVER work on pieces of this size...so it's taking longer than normal.)
I'll post some pics when I finally get it done.

I'm working on some
'Goth Fairy Tale' paintings and dolls...
I'll post these in my
Rustic Goth Shop
but, still take any that don't sell in the shop
to the next show.
We're working on some 'sweet' pumpkins and other
Halloween themed pieces as well.

We're going to have a lot of new
art pendant pieces for the next show too!
Hopefully we'll be able to do enough
to post some new pendants our shops.

So...I'm staying very--very busy!
Look for a lot of brand new paintings...
prints...dolls...pendants...and other
'gothic goodness'
coming soon!

3 Days Down ---- 8 More to Go!

I haven't done an arts/craft show
in 5 years....
and it 'shows'.

I am sooooo tired every night...
and doing the 'time check'
every 15 minutes
the last couple of hours.
(Traffic is very minimal in the evenings...and 9 pm
tends to feel more like midnight!)

But...we've had a pretty good show so far!

I'm told that the week-days
are realllly LONG...even though the Fair
always goes for 11 days...
kids are back in school,
parents are back at work...
and traffic really slows down.

And...me keeping vampire hours...
having to get up
at the time that I'm usually
just heading for bed...
I'm so very tired!

But...I'm still glad we decided to do the Fair!
Call me...crazy!!

My birthday came and went...

The first day of our show
at the Fair was also my birthday.
While it is usually
not a 'big deal' to me...
my kids do try to make it special...

I got calls from all of my kids...
so it didn't go completely without notice.

And..as something, extra special for me..
I was one of the
"top 10 Friday"
picks
here
on my birthday!!
Thanks Rossana!

All in all...the first day didn't draw
too much of a crowd...
we still had so much setting up to do
that I am thoroughly 'beat' and quite ready for bed.
(They had already blocked off the road to the venue...
and we had to walk more than a mile...
carrying folding chairs...tables...
paintings...
and the usual 'stuff' one needs on hand
during a show.)
So...I'm not as tired from the show...as the 'trek' from
the van to the venue!

I'm not going to carry much more than myself
to 'day 2.'
