Most of my followers probably already know the
'story behind' my Creeper characters.
But...I'll relate it...very briefly again.
In 2006...I lost my husband and best friend in the whole world....
our lives (after almost 35 years together) were so very intertwined
that I had a very difficult time getting through the stages of grief...
mostly I just wanted to stay in bed and not be bothered by anyone.
I did make myself get out of bed...and tried to continue to work on the art
I had been creating and selling on eBay...mostly abstract stuff.
But...it wasn't exactly my best work.
I came up with these 'androgynous' little characters
who were portrayals of my emotions...
and revelations of whatever stage of grief I was in at the time.
This painting was titled...
'Say A Little Prayer'
and it came into being during the
'bargaining' stage.
Now I need to decide if my Creepers are 'history' or
if I will continue to paint them.
I think if I don't paint them, that might make me a bit sad...
and if I do continue to paint them...they will be fewer
and further between.
They did what I needed them to do, and helped me through the
hardest time in my life...
and I'm not sure where to take them from here.
More 'tough' decisions...

I can only speak for myself and how my mind works. In my experience, if I try to force a creation or force a painting/drawing it's usually not my best and looks rushed or forced.
I continually create art in the moment which is why my art continues to change day to day, week to week, month to month and year after year.
I use to paint and love to paint almost every day for a solid 3 years. I currently haven't painted for almost a year now. Everyone changes day to day, and I have been in drawing (ink and watercolor) mood. I am also in the process of writing 3 books while more heavily focused on one.
Long story short, I don't think you will ever stop creating these Creepers. You may go through periods of time where you don't create them and that's good because art is personal and is a form of communication. You created these characters and scenes to help you through a difficult time in your life.
If you are feeling this way of not creating them, I say move on, but I feel that they will come back. Because I feel that although they have helped you through a time of sorrow, there are new characters you haven't created yet. These new characters will help you through the times of acceptance, joy, happiness, etc.
I hope this helps.
Cheers
I agree with what Moon Art Designs said in the last paragraph. I think your creeper characters and the world you created for them is wonderful! If you take your art in a new direction I hope you revisit the creepers theme from time to time.
Thank you Michael and Brian...you have both given me much to think about and new 'insight' into my relationship with these characters!
I feel so humbled and honored that you have taken the time to let me know your feelings in my characters and my art!
Thank you again!!
Please don't stop... I love your art...you are so creative and my walls aren't full yet. And I think you enjoy making your creations...
I won't stop...not completely...I'll just slow down a bit:)
