My very small work space

I just finished two large
(for me and my work space they are large)
24" x 30"
commissioned paintings.

This size canvas takes up almost the entire dining room table...and I have
to set up card tables for paints, brushes..etc.

I'm very pleased that I was able to accomplish this..and let me tell you
it wasn't easy.
With my limited space, I can only work on one painting at a time...
then I have to find someplace safe to put it
until I can work on it again.

I only have one closet...and that one is a walk through clothes closet that I
share with my son...so no room there.
Mostly...paintings are stored all over my bedroom...and when I get
to the point that I would have a problem walking there...I don't paint anymore
until I sell some of the older works.

You can see that I do all of my printing and painting in my dining room
and every other Sunday we have family day...
so things have to get put up
so they we can use it to eat a family meal at the table.

I'm not complaining...
when I moved to my last house...it was because we were living
in a second floor apartment and with my
husband's failing health, he couldn't manage the stairs anymore.
Anyway...
that house was quite a bit pricier than this one...
but painting sales were really good at that time
and so it was no big deal.

Since things have gotten a bit 'tight' for everyone...
I had to make a choice to downsize too!

It's actually a cute little place...
and I am 'making it work'.

Of course, I do have to have sales a little more
often than I used to...in the hopes of moving
a few older paintings so that I have
room for new ones.

I was thinking that you were making a studio room...that was a few years back when I went to your blot...but it must have been a different blotter...your work space does look tight but you still seem to turn out amazing work...

Your work space seems to be the product of an overly organized and ordered mind! I'm teasing! ; ) Congratulations on the completion of your commissioned paintings!

I like your determination. It shouldn't matter whether big or small. If it works for you then it works. Simple as that.

My workspace is too small and too simple because my apartment's small. But I *have* space, I have my music, my tools, and that's all I need and I'm thankful for it.

Good to know that you're even selling. It's an achievement you should be very proud of :)

I did have a different studio...more room...in my last house. But, having downsized from three floors to one...I have to 'make - do'.

Thank you Brian....I had to give myself a 'pat on the back'...as it wasn't too easy with my confined work space...but I'm rather proud that I managed to pull it off:)

Even if an office space or workspace is a bit limited, a more important consideration is how creative you still can be in that area. More power to you!
